Rod Edmond, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, is a founding partner of Edmond & Jones, LLP, and serves as the firm's managing partner. He concentrates his legal practice in the areas of plaintiffs' personal injury - namely medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, product liability and other cases involving catastrophic injuries.

Dr. Edmond practiced for 2 years with the firm of famed attorney Johnnie L. Cochran, Jr. While with The Cochran Firm, Dr. Edmond successfully litigated a number of multi-million dollar personal injury cases. He resolved the civil suit for the widow of a D.C. postal worker who died from an anthrax infection that was acquired through the Brentwood Postal Office. He obtained one of the largest settlements for medical negligence in the history of a South Carolina county for a suit involving a young lady who died from the delayed diagnosis of a rare heart condition. Dr. Edmond won one of the largest jury verdicts in the state of North Carolina for a non-death nursing home negligence suit. He settled a multi-million dollar suit against a company for distributing defective biomedical material to a patient. Recently, he obtained a multi-million dollar settlement in a discrimination case against a large residential building company.

He received his medical degree from Duke University in 1987 and did post-graduate training in general surgery at Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. He served 5 years as a physician and a Captain in the United States Army. While practicing medicine at the Pentagon, Dr. Edmond attended law school at night and received his Juris Doctor degree in 1993 from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Dr. Edmond has published articles in medical journals and is an active speaker on the subjects of medical and medical-legal issues. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the National Medical Association, The American Bar Association, The National Bar Association, The Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and a number of other professional and civic organizations. Mr. Edmond is licensed to practice in the following courts: all Georgia lower courts, The Georgia Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Georgia, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Dr. Edmond is a member of Cascade United Methodist Church. He is married to Brooke Jackson Edmond and is the proud father of two sons and three daughters.
